ROSHN MUSAHAMA Design Competition invites Saudi architects, artists, and designers to envision a new iconic landmark for Saudi Arabia, a modular and easily deployable urban intervention that enriches public spaces while establishing a recognizable identity across different contexts.
Participants are challenged to design a system that is adaptable, scalable, and capable of activating spaces within ROSHN Group’s developments and other locations across Saudi Arabia and internationally, reflecting the Kingdom’s creativity, innovation, and evolving urban identity. Open to teams led by a Saudi national
Participation may be as independent teams (up to four members) or Saudi architectural offices

Construction Opportunity & Honorable Mentions
In addition to the prizes awarded for each track, ROSHN Group will select one outstanding design from among the six winning proposals—regardless of track—to be brought to life as a built intervention that embodies the competition’s vision and transforms the idea into a lasting landmark.
Participants whose submissions receive Honorable Mentions will also be awarded certificates in recognition of their exceptional work.

SEDRA Pedestrian Spine
This competition invited visionary architects to re-imagine the SEDRA Pedestrian Spine, developing bold and creative ideas that enhance the flow and interaction between community amenities. Participants were required to incorporate 5 elements in their designs: local materials, cultural identity, design excellence, functionality and urban response.
Who can participate?
The competition is open to Saudi nationals across disciplines, including architecture, design, art, and related creative fields.
Can I collaborate with international participants?
Yes. Collaborative teams are welcome, provided that the primary registered member of each team is a Saudi national.
Is there a student track?
Yes. A dedicated Student Track is available for currently enrolled university students. Recent graduates within one year of completing their studies are also eligible.
Can offices or firms participate?
Participation is open to local offices founded by Saudi nationals under the Professional Track.
What is meant by “intervention” in this competition?
In this competition, an intervention refers to a modular and flexible architectural or urban element designed to activate and enhance public space. It may be temporary or permanent and should foster social interaction, create visual impact, and contribute to the identity of its surroundings. The system should be adaptable, scalable, and deployable across multiple contexts, from a small plaza in a ROSHN neighborhood to larger urban or international sites.
Will there be Q&A support during the process?
Yes. Participants can submit questions through the Q&A form available below page until January 15, 2026.
What language should submissions be in?
Submissions can be made in either Arabic or English.
Can I participate in the competition alone, or do I need to form a team?
Yes — teams of one are permitted.
Can I edit or update my registration information after submitting it?
Once registration is completed, the submitted information cannot be changed. However, you may register again, and your team will receive a new Team ID. You will also receive a new confirmation email containing a unique link for submitting your proposal. Please ensure you use the latest confirmation email and its unique link when submitting your proposal.
